Eastern Michigan Distributors Co. incorporated in 1954. In 1979, after a downturn in business, Mike Lueck Sr. took a risk and purchased the company from his employers. During the recession in the early 1980s, Mike worked hard to bring the business back from the brink. Michael Lueck Jr. hired on in the late 1980s. He was key in continuing the progression of the family business. Since the business was growing, more members were needed to keep top-notch customer service.
In the early 1990s, two more children, Jake and Diana, joined to follow in their father’s footsteps. After he graduated from law school in 1994, Michael Jr. moved on from the business to pursue his successful law career. In 2006, Mark, one of Mike Sr.’s grandsons, hired on to begin the third generation at the family business. In 1998, Eastern Michigan Distributors Co. added a new location in Southfield to widen our services to those on the west side of Metro Detroit.
